Across Schools Teacher - Mawhera Community of Learning

Tena koutou, kia ora koutou. Ko Bev Kemp tōku ingoa. I am currently one of the across schools teachers for the Mawhera Community of Learning. This is my blog where I will share my mahi/work around raising student achievement within the Mawhera CoL.

The goals for the Mawherea Community of Learning are to

• raise student achievement in writing
• raise student achievement in mathematics
• raise whanau engagement in learning.

For teachers and students, principals and whanau, to begin to meet the challenges ahead of us in raising student achievement and academic achievement in mathematics and writing, we must first review and acknowledge where we are at present, and develop a shared understanding of the practice and pedagogy that will move us forward towards success. One mechanism for effective review and positive action is robust inquiry. Therefore inquiry will be the initial focus of my interactions within schools.
